Eva Havrdová: Exercising your brain – part of a healthy lifestyle

Professor Eva Havrdová offers advice on how to keep your brain as healthy as possible.

"The brain works like muscles, if you do not use it, it shrinks. And we are happy to have more nerve cells, and so you have to train them like you train muscles. Therefore, we recommend that patients learn something new or do some exercise, like games for improvement of brain function. There are a lot of things that people can do. They can do what they like, because if you like it, it works better. So these are the lifestyle changes and of course, if you drink too much alcohol, you should stop it, and if you take some concomitant medication, you should of course continue to take it. And, of course, you have to be adherent with your MS treatment."
