George Pepper: The benefits of taking an active role in treatment decisions

George Pepper explains why people with multiple sclerosis should be engaged in making decisions with healthcare professionals.

"Yes, I think engagement for MSers in their own health care is vitally important. MS is typically diagnosed in their 20s and 30s, so they may be living with MS for 40, 50, 60 years, so I think it’s paramount that they can take an active role in understanding about their condition and making decisions from the very start.  We also know there’s research which shows that engaged patients do better. They have better outcomes. So why wouldn’t you be engaged in your condition?"
